Deuce Wynes grew up in the “state of hockey”, Minnesota.  Like so many other Minnesota kids, that meant that Deuce began playing hockey at an early age. Deuce didn’t end his hockey career there, however, and instead took his talents to Division 1 schools including Illinois-Chicago and Lake Superior State, which was just coming off a national championship season.
