The North Star condos are located at 148 Elcho Avenue, at the entrance to Crested Butte South. These condos consist of two ten-plexes, though they were built nine years apart (1993 and 2002). The older condos all have a garage (but no basement), while the newer units have basements (but no garage). These basements were originally unfinished, but many owners have finished those spaces since 2002. The newer units also feature vaulted ceilings upstairs. Parking is plentiful at North Star, which is an important consideration for the many locals that live here. The location of the Northstar condos is ideal- the CB South bus stop is only a short walk away, which makes it easy to catch the bus to either Crested Butte or Gunnison. Additionally, the business district with businesses like Tully’s and Camp 4 coffee is nearby as well. Meanwhile, recreation is right out the door, with hundreds of miles of singletrack located up Cement Creek, not to mention fishing, Nordic skiing, and more.
Dues are more affordable at North Star than most condos in the Crested Butte area. The North Star condos have long been popular with locals, and are also great as a long-term rental or even a vacation condo. As of 4/23/2019, there have been five sales in the previous two years, with an average sales price of $283,000.
