Rock climbing has surged in popularity with good reason- it’s great fun! For bouldering enthusiasts, the boulders on the Upper Loop trail between Skyland and Mount Crested Butte are a great option, as well as the Hartman Rocks area just outside Gunnison. Popular climbing areas include Cement Creek, Spring Creek, Taylor Canyon (especially near Harmel’s resort), and Hartman Rocks. Real pros can challenge themselves on the “big walls” in our nearby National Park, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Never climbed before?
