A Snowy Start for Crested Butte


This is the view of the Ruby Range (the line of peaks from Purple Mountain to Mount Owen, a few miles west of Crested Butte):

Snow depths in this area currently range from 18-36″, a great number for early October. There is more snow now than there was last December, during a dry early season. The early snowfall should bode well for skiers, snowmobilers, and cross-country skiers. Here’s to winter 2013-14!
