Did you know that when you purchase new appliances or even lightbulbs, you can get sizeable GCEA rebates?
Many times, my clients are interested in updating the appliances of the home that they buy. Most of the Crested Butte and Gunnison area is served by the Gunnison County Electric Association (GCEA), with the notable exception of the City of Gunnison. What most people don’t know is that GCEA will rebate a substantial amount of money for new, energy efficient (Energy Star) appliances. This includes appliances that you might be forced to buy when they break, like electric water heaters. As of 2018 GCEA rebates include (among others):
- $110 for Refrigerators
- $50-$60 for clothes washers
- $30-$90 for clothes dryers
- $35 for dishwashers
- $50 or more for water heaters
Not only that, but you can also receive a GCEA rebate for LED lighting, too. GCEA members are eligible for up to a 50% rebate for LED lights, up to $8 per bulb, and up to 50 bulbs! That’s one that I forgot about when we were doing some upgrades to our residence- oops! Further rebates are available for commercial lighting, too.
