Hartman Rocks recreation area is located a few miles south of Gunnison, Colorado. Often called Hartman’s Rocks or simply “Hartman’s”, this is where Gunnison residents come to play, year-round. Approximately 50 miles of trails beckon mountain bikers, hikers, and dirtbikers. Rock climbers tackle the multiple pinnacles in the area, and nordic skiers take advantage of groomed trails when snow conditions allow. Several subdivisions including Panoview Park, Gold Basin Meadows, and Tomichi Creek Preserve surround the base area and offer picturesque settings with recreation right out the back door. No more loading up the car with the bike gear- just get on your bike and ride! The slightly elevated location means big views to the north, with Carbon Peak and Whetstone Mountain among the highlights. The Dos Rios golf course is located nearby and is a picturesque 18 hole course with large Cottonwood trees lining the fairways.
The town of Gunnison is close enough for short bike rides into town, or 5 minutes in a car.
Crested Butte Mountain Resort is about 35 minutes away, and public transportation to the slopes is available from downtown Gunnison. To learn more about buying or selling a home in the Hartman Rocks area, feel free to contact me anytime.
