The Overlook neighborhood is located in Mount Crested Butte, CO on the southwestern side of Crested Butte mountain. Not surprisingly given the name, the Overlook subdivision does in fact overlook the Slate river valley and the town of Crested Butte from its high location. Other views from this area include the craggy cliff faces of Crested Butte, Whetstone Mountain, and Red Lady bowl on Mount Emmons. If you are looking for a home or homesite with lots of natural light, Overlook’s location is a good one, with sunlight all day and well into the afternoon. The twenty year old Overlook subdivision is a smaller neighborhood, with 26 lots. Approximately half of the lots currently have a home built. Homes in Overlook are high end luxury homes, with designs that take advantage of the sweeping panoramic views that the area provides. Buyers that are interested in Overlook may also wish to consider the nearby Summit subdivision as well, which offers ski in ski out lots. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is roughly a mile away, and the town of Crested Butte is about 3 miles away.
In the warmer months, residents of Overlook can take advantage of the nearby Upper loop trail to hike or bike to town via Tony’s trail as well (or continue onward to Brush Creek and the Skyland area). To learn more about buying or selling a home in Overlook, feel free to contact me anytime.
